Largest denominational faith organization for women with over 800,000 member worldwide with a mission to foster spiritual growth, development of leaders, and advocating for justice. Each year, United Methodist Women members prepare for faithful living and action by studying up to three mission studies focusing on a spiritual growth topic, geographic area and a current issue. Members raise up to $20 million yearly for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ: to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Welcome! As a noun, the word has many meanings. But as a verb its manifestations are countless. God is the originator of welcome. In the beginning of biblical time, God welcomed us into creation and into existence. We experienced the same love and welcome in Jesus Christ. This welcome is not only to make us wanted and accepted, but it is also an invitation to share in God's work. God's welcome motivates us and compels us to extend the same welcome to others. We are transformed as we express welcome.

2018 Theme:
Sacred Spaces: Encounters With God and Neighbor
Sacred spaces are not only places of religious significance but sacred because of the interactions that thake place between God and humans there. When we interact with God, we learn something about ourselves and we discover God's purposes for our lives. So, too, our encounters with people become sacred when we consider that humans bear God's image and are recipients of God's love and grace.
