What Will Worship Look Like When We Return???

As we look to return to worship in person, some things may not be the same as before. The plan is for us to worship outside thru the end of August. We will continue online worship during this time. At this time we are tentatively planning to resume in person worship in the sanctuary on Sunday, August 30th at  8:15 and 10 am.  Saturday night worshippers, we will return to 6 pm on Saturday, October 3rd. Here are a few of the changes that we have put in place to keep everyone safe.

· We need people to sign up for a seat at the worship service you want to attend. You can sign up on our website, carrollunitedmethodist.org under sign up and register, or you can call the office. With proper    social distancing we can have 20 family units at each service. You will only be able to sign up for 2 weeks at a time, if you can’t make the service please go in and remove your name or contact the office, so we can use that spot for someone else.

· The pews, sanctuary, bathrooms and commonly touched surfaces  will be sanitized before each service. Hand sanitizer will be located in several places in the building.

· Face masks are required. Greeters will be available to open doors before and after each service. Ushers will guide you to a seat. Not everyone will get to sit in their favorite pew, please be flexible. All worshippers will be dismissed by the Ushers to limit traffic flow. Please exit the building following worship in an efficient manner to limit exposure.

· We ask that everyone refrain from shaking hands and hugging. I know this is hard but lets play it safe. We will be passing the peace in alternate ways.

· For now there will be no bulletins, please watch the announcements on the screen before the service or check out the ‘What’s Happening’ page on our website. You can always call the office if you have a question about what is going on at the church.

· We will not be using hymnals or pew bibles. If you want a hymnal, please let us know and we will let you borrow one that you can take back and forth for the time being. Please feel free to bring your own bible.

· Due to spread of the virus and use of masks, we will not be doing responsive readings, singing songs or reciting the Lord’s Prayer out loud.

· Offering will be collected at the back of the sanctuary each week. You can still mail it in or do online giving.

· Communion will be altered and on those Sundays the Ushers will instruct you on what to do.

· At this time we will go back to livestreaming our services, please be patient, we may have a few bugs since the equipment has been idle for a while.

· There will be no children’s packs, please bring items to entertain your children. Also, the Nursery will be closed tentatively until Sunday School starts. Check out our Facebook page for changes to this plan.

Thank you for understanding and helping us to make this work.
